I feel far from enchanted these days
Through there are fleeting moments here and there
This I know
Bu where did they go?
They seem so distant now
Out of reach
Hiding in the miscellaneous folds of my memory
These days feel shrouded in tenderness
And
vulnerability
There is temptation in closing off to the world
Too harsh
Too loud
Too rough
Too much…
But,
Then,
Even when the days are getting shorter
And
Darkness is gathering
And
The cold is creeping in
I spy
A tender little budding bush
Bright bursts of color pushing out of dry, cracked earth
Holding nothing back
Simple beauty
Open
Giving of itself fully
And
I can’t help but fall in love
With the small wonders of the world
~Franchesca Stimming
This poem holds the truth of what keeps me going – the beauty of small wonders, and big, all around us. So well said.
Thank you for taking the time to comment, I am glad it resonated.
What salvation, those small wonders. In the poem I loved the swing from lost to found. Thanks for sharing at eartheweal
Thank you, it’s a constant balancing act.
Just beautiful Frankie….the beauty of life is in the small things….you don’r need a diamond ring to make you happy…this means you have won !
Such an important reminder 🙂 Thank you!
The world is full of such small enchantments that seem to appear just when most needed.
So true, thank you.
Beautiful. Such strength in this vulnerability Frankie, thanks for sharing and congrats on the new blog. xx
Thank you!
Lovely. The small wonders are what we so often miss, but they are as magnificent as the ones that gather the crowds.
Mmm so true, thank you.
I think the small wonders of the world are always worth falling in love with: they are always there to be found, and will never let you down!
